A copy of the new online brochure can be viewed at www.leesburgva.com. Leesburg Economic Development focuses on business attraction, retention and entrepreneur development and their newest tool promises to draw attention to the Leesburg marketplace. A key feature of the brochure is a series of business profiles that showcase Leesburg-based businesses and business leaders, including Dr. Kitty Saylor of REHAU, Eric Major of K2M, Shye Gilad of Projet Aviation, and Timo Winkel and Nicole Marschall of Doener Bistro. The business brochure was created in a print form in 2008 and distributed to existing and potential new businesses interested in locating in Leesburg. The original print version of brochure won the International Economic Development Council Promotion Award in 2009. Leesburg is changing rapidly and converting the brochure to an electronic format was critical to the department’s need to be nimble. One major advantage of the online version is that it can be kept up to date more easily than the print version. The availability of the online brochure is a powerful tool for the site selectors and business leaders looking at the Leesburg market place for growth and expansion options. “We are proud of the Leesburg business community, and we anticipate efforts to continue to tell their collective stories in a variety of mediums,” said Marantha Edwards, Economic Development Manager. Between the activity at the Village at Leesburg, Leesburg Commerce Center and Fort Evans Plaza II, and the retail space absorption, there is a significant uptick in activity and that activity creates a ripple effect throughout the immediate community and the region. Utilizing an online brochure to spread the word about the changes in the community is critical to the way businesses are using electronic media to make location decisions.
