A RESOLUTION: PRESENTED May 28, 1986 86-99 ADOPTED May 28, 1986 INITIATING A REVISION TO THE LEESBURG ZONING DISTRICT MAP FOR THE HARRISON SQUARE SOUTH CONDOMINIUMS WHEREAS, the Harrison Square South Condominiums were constructed with federal funding assistance as part of the South Harrison Street Community Development Project specifically to provide moderate-income homeownership opportunities; and WHEREAS, the town's agreement with the developer of this project required that the condominiums be sold for moderate-income residenl~ial purposes only; and WHEREAS, the present B-2 zoning of this property would permit non- residential use within this residential project; and WHEREAS, the continuing residential use of this property is essential to support the goals of the South Harrison Street ComMunity Development Pro- ject and the Town Plan for the maintenance of moderate-cost housing in the downtown area; and WHEREAS, the rezoning of this property to an appropriate residential district is in the interest of good zoning practice and the public welfare: THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows: SECTION I. An amendment to the Zoning District Map is initiated to rezone the Harrison Square South Condominiums, located on .7553 acres of land as shown on the attached map, from B-2 to R-4. - 2- INITIATING A REVISION TO THE LEESBURG ZONING DISTRICT MAP FOR THE tLARRISON SQUARE SOUTH CONDOMINIUMS SECTION II. A public hearing on the proposed zoning map amendment, assigned #ZM-77, shall be held at 7:30 p.m. on June 25 , 1986, in the Council Chambers, 10 W. Loudoun Street, Leesburg, Virginia, and, in accordance with Section 15.1-431 of the Code of Virginia, this hearing shall be a joint public hearing of the Council and Planning Commission. The clerk shall give notice of this hearing and the Council's intention to adopt the zoning map amendment on June 5 , 1986, and June 12 , 1986, and shall advise the Planning Commission of the purpose, time and date of the hearing. SECTION III. The Planning Commission shall report its recommendation to the Council on the proposed amendment within 30 days of the public hearing.
