® AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE SIZE OF DEPARTMENTS OF CITY
GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF GREENCASTLE, INDIANA, FIXING SALARIES
FOR THE EMPLOYEES OF SUCH DEPARTMENTS AND FIXING SALARIES OF
CERTAIN OTHER APPOINTED OFFICIALS FOR THE YEAR 1991
BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of
Greencastle, Indiana, as follows:
SECTION ONE That all eligible full -time members of the
departments of the City of Greencastle shall be paid longevity
beginning the first day of the anniversary month of the fourth year
of service. Longevity shall be based on 38, 48, and 5% of base
pay: at 3 -5 years, 3 %; 6 -11 years, 48; and 12 years and over, 5%.
Full -time members shall be compensated for authorized overtime in
accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act, 29 U.S.C.A. 207.
SECTION TWO That the Police Department shall consist of

fourteen (14) full -time members and in addition, five (5) part -time
school crossing guards. Base pay ranges, including the maximum,
shall be as follows:
P5- Police Chief.
P5- Assistant Chief
P4- Captain (3)
P3- Sergeant (3)
P2- Patrolmen (4)
P1- Parking Violations Ore.
C3- Police Secretary
School Crossing Guards (5)
($9.25 per day each)

twelve (12) full -time members. Base pay ranges, including the
maximum shall be as follows:

That the Department of water Works shall pay to the Deputy

Clerk- Treasurer of the City of Greencastle for services rendered by
the Deputy Clerk- Treasurer on behalf of the Department of Water
Works during the year 1991 the sum of Two Thousand Seven Hundred
Fifty Dollars ($2,750.00).
That the Department of Water Works shall pay to the City
Engineer of the City of Greencastle for services rendered by the
City Engineer on behalf of the Department of Water Works during the
year 1991 the sum of Thirteen Thousand Dollars ($13,000.00).
That the Department of Water Works shall pay to each of the
two (2) citizen members of the Board of Public works and Safety of
the City of Greencastle for services rendered by the citizen
members of the Board of Public Works and Safety on behalf of the
Department of Water Works during the year 1991 the sum of Three
Hundred Dollars ($300.00).
SECTION NINE That the Department of Trash Collection shall
consist of one (1) full -time member. Base pay ranges, including
the maximum, shall be as follows:
C2- Billing Clerk $13,000.00 - 13,600.00 + longevity
