AUTHORIZING THE CHARGE-OFF OF UNCOLLECTABLE PERSONAL PROPERTY
TAXES FOR 1981
WHEREAS, the 1950 Code of Virginia §58.1-3940 provides for collection
of local personal property taxes to be enforceab]e for only five years following
December 31 of the year for which such taxes were assessed; and
WHEREAS, the town's financial records contain outstanding personal property
taxes for the year 1981:
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia
that the Director of Finance is authorized to charge-off from the town's
financial records all outstanding personal property taxes for the year 1981.
