® AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE GREENCASTLE PLANNING AND ZONING
ORDINANCE BY AMENDING THE ZONING MAP
(407 -409 MELROSE AVENUE)
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the City of
Greencastle, has initiated and prepared this ordinance to
amend the Greencastle Planning and Zoning Ordinance by
amending the zoning map;
WHEREAS, the Greencastle Plan Commission has reported
that it held a public hearing concerning this ordinance on
July 23, 1990, after timely notice of the hearing was given
by publication in the Banner- Graphic, Greencastle, Indiana
on July 13, 1990;
WHEREAS, the Greencastle Plan Commission has reported
that it paid reasonable regard to the factors enumerated in
IC 36 -7 -4 -603 in consideration of the ordinance and
determination of a recommendation to made to the Common
Council;
49 WHEREAS, the Greencastle Plan Commission has certified
this ordinance to the Common Council with a recommendation
by a majority vote in favor of adoption;
WHEREAS, the Common Council has considered the
recommendation of the Greencastle Plan Commission and has
paid reasonable regard to the factors enumerated in IC 36 -7-
4 -603 before acting on this ordinance;
WHEREAS, the Common Council has determined that this
ordinance should be adopted without amendment as certified
by the Greencastle Plan Commission. Therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED AND ADOPTED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF GREENCASTLE, INDIANA:
SECTION 1. REZONING
That the City of Greencastle Zoning Map, Chapter 806 -5
(b) of the City of Greencastle Code, is hereby amended by
® changing the zoning classification for the following
described real estate from R -1 -- Single Family Residential to
R P Residential - Professional:

Parcel 1:
• Street address: 409 Melrose Avenue, Greencastle, Indiana.
Part of the Southeast quarter
of the Southwest quarter and a part
of the Southwest quarter of the
Southeast quarter of Section 16,
Township 14 North, Range 4 West,
more particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at a point 220.5
feet South and 42 feet East of a
stone marking the Northeast Corner
of the Southeast of the Southwest
quarter of said Section 16; thence
South 105 feet; thence West 214.4
feet; thence North 105 feet; thence
East 214.4 feet to the place of
beginning.
Parcel 2:
Street address: 407 Melrose Avenue, Greencastle, Indiana.
Part of the Southeast quarter
of the Southwest quarter and a part
of the Southwest quarter of the
Southeast quarter of Section lo,
Township 1.4 North, Range 4 West,
more particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at a point 325.5
feet South and 42 feet East of a
stone marking the Northeast corner
of the Southeast Quarter of the
Southwest Quarter of said Section
16, the said point of beginning
being on the West line of the
Northwood Subdivision to the City
of Greencastle, Indiana; thence
South with the West line of
Northwood Addition 100 feet to a
point, thence leaving said West
line of Northwood Addition, West
214.4 feet to the East line of
Melrose Avenue; thence North with
said East line of Melrose Avenue
108 feet to a point; thence East to
the point of beginning.
This ordinance takes effect upon passage.
The Clerk- Treasurer of the City of Greencastle is
ordered to have this ordinance published by inserting a copy
of the ordinance in each of the two (2) sets of the City of
Greencastle Code maintained on file for public inspection in
O the office of the Clerk- Treasurer.
