A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TEMPLE CITY CALLING A SPECItL
ELECTION TO BE HELD ON THE 13TH DAY OF
SEPTEMBER, 1966, PERTAINING TO THE ANNEX-
ATION OF "ANNEXATION NO. 11" TO THE CITY
OF TEMPLE CITY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 66 -612, the City Council of
the City of Temple City declared its intention to call a special
election in certain inhabited territory contiguous to said City
proposed to be annexed to the City, for the purpose of submitting
to the qualified electors residing in said territory the question
whether or not the territory shall be annexed to the City; and
WHEREAS, a copy of said Resolution was published as
required by law; and
WHEREAS, at a time not later than the hour set by said
Resolution for hearing objections to the proposed election pro-
tests were not made by the owners or by public and private owners
equal to one -half of the value of the territory proposed to be
annexed; and
WHEREAS, all proceedings have been had in accordance
with said Resolution and the Annexation Act of 1913, reference
thereto hereby being made for further particulars;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Temple
City does resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. A special election is hereby called to be
held on the 13th day of September, 1966, in the territory herein-
after described and proposed to be annexed to the City of Temple
City, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors resit;
ing in said territory the question whether or not such territory
shall be annexed to, incorporated in, and made a part of said City
of Temple City.
Said territory is described as follows:
That parcel of land in the County of Los Angeles, State
of California included within the following described boundary:
Beginning at the intersection of the northerly line of Lot 60,
Sunny Slope Vineyard Subdivision No. 2 as shown on map recorded in
Book 10, page 181 of Maps in the office of the County Recorder of
said County with the southerly prolongation of that course in the
westerly line of Rosemead Boulevard described as having a bearing
of South 7 °40'00" West and a length of 76.45 feet in deed to the
State of California recorded in Book 34401, page 340 of Official
Records in the office of said Recorder, said intersection being an
angle point in the boundary of the City of Temple City as the same
existed on July 1, 1965; thence easterly along said boundary to th <.
westerly line of the easterly 31.9 feet of Lot 42 said Sunny Slope
Vineyard Subdivision No. 2; thence northerly along said last men-
tioned westerly line to the northerly line of said last mentioned
lot; thence northeasterly in a direct line to the southeasterly co
ner of Lot 1, Tract No. 3507 as shown on map recorded in Book 34,
page 93 of said Maps; thence northerly along the easterly line of
said last mentioned lot to the southerly line of Lot 5, Tract No.
11902 as shown on map recorded in Book 380, pages 27 and 28 of sal -.
Maps; thence easterly along said last mentioned southerly line to
the southeasterly corner of said last mentioned lot; thence north-
erly in a direct line to the northeasterly corner of said last men
tioned lot; thence northerly in a direct line to the southeasterly
corner of Lot 1, said last mentioned tract; thence northerly In a
direct line to the northeasterly corner of said last mentioned lcL,
thence easterly along the northerly line of said last mentioned
tract to the easterly line of the westerly 73.02 feet of Lot 6,

said Sunny Slope Vineyard Subdivision No. 2; thence northerly along
said last mentioned easterly line to the northerly line of said
last mentioned lot: thence northeasterly in a direct line to the
southeasterly corner of Lot 14, Tract No. 10815 as shown on map
recorded in Book 188, pages 7 and 8 of said Maps; thence northerly
along the easterly line of said last mentioned lot to the southerly
line of the northerly 16 feet of said last mentioned lot; thence
westerly along said last mentioned southerly line to the westerly
line of said last mentioned lot; thence southwesterly in a direct
line to the northeasterly corner of Lot 1, Tract No. 4850 as shown
on map recorded in Book 52, pages 11 and 12 of said Maps; thence
westerly along the northerly line of said last mentioned lot to a
line parallel with and 20 feet easterly measured at right angles
from the westerly line of said last mentioned lot; thence northerly
along said parallel line to the northerly line of Lot 2 said last
mentioned tract; thence westerly in a direct line to the southeaster-
ly corner of Lot 20 said last mentioned tract; thence westerly along
the southerly line of said last mentioned Lot 72.5 feet; thence
northerly along a line that passes through a point in the northerly
line of said last mentioned lot easterly thereon 62.5 feet from the
northwesterly corner of said last mentioned lot to a line that is
parallel with and 130 feet southerly measured at right angles from
said last mentioned northerly line; thence westerly along said last
mentioned parallel line to the westerly line of said last mentioned
lot; thence southerly along said last mentioned westerly line to the
southwesterly corner of said last mentioned lot; thence westerly in
a direct line to the northeasterly corner of Lot 14 said last mention
ed tract; thence westerly along the northerly line of said last men-
tioned lot 72.5 feet; thence southerly parallel with the westerly
line of said last mentioned lot 90.25 feet; thence westerly parallel
with said last mentioned northerly line and its westerly prolongation
a distance of 100 feet; thence southerly parallel with the westerly
line of Lot 15, said last mentioned tract a distance of 62 feet;
thence westerly parallel with the southerly line of said last men-
tioned lot to the westerly line of said last mentioned lot; thence
southwesterly in a direct line to the southeasterly corner of Lot
32, Tract No. 7620 as shown on map recorded in Book 92, page 9 of
said Maps; thence westerly along the southerly line of said last
mentioned lot to a line that is parallel with and 72 feet easterly
measured at right angles from the westerly line of said last mention-
ed lot; thence northerly along said last mentioned parallel line to
the northerly line of said last mentioned lot; thence westerly along
said last mentioned northerly line and its westerly prolongation to
the westerly line of Parcel 49 of the Southern California Edison
Company's right of way (265 feet wide) as shown on map filed in Book
30, pages 2 to 12 inclusive of Record of Surveys in the office of
said Recorder; thence southerly along said last mentioned westerly
line and its southerly prolongation to the southwesterly corner of
Parcel 48 as shown on said last mentioned map; thence southwesterly
in a direct line to the northwesterly corner of Lot 1, Tract No.
26707 as shown on map recorded in Book 682, pages 9 and 10 of said
Maps; thence southerly in a direct line to the southwesterly corner
of Lot 12, said last mentioned tract; thence southerly along the
easterly line of easement to the Los Angeles County Flood Control
District (Eaton ,Dash) as described in deed recorded in Book 14048,
page 285 of said Official Records to the southeasterly corner of
said easement; thence southerly in a direct line to the most norther-
ly corner of easement to said District (Eaton Wash) as described in
deed recorded in Book 14092, page 113 of said Official Records;
thence southerly along the easterly line of said last mentioned ease-
ment to the northwesterly corner of Lot 8, Tract No. 14623 as shown
on map recorddd in Book 314, pages 1 and 2 of said Maps; thence
southerly along the easterly line of said District's right of way
(100 feet wide) as shown on said last mentioned map and its souther-
ly prolongation to the center line of Longden Avenue (60 feet wide)
as shown on map of Tract No. 5903 recorded in Book 67, page 59 of
said Maps; thence easterly along said center line to the center line
of Muscatel Avenue (60 feet wide) as shown on said last mentioned
map; thence continuing easterly along the center line of Longden Ave,

(60 feet wide) as shown on map of Tract No. 5904 recorded in Book
69, page 29 of said Maps to its intersection with the southerly
continuation of a curve concave to the east and having a radius of
4050 feet in the westerly line of Rosemead Boulevard, said curve
being the westerly line of the land described as Parcel 1 in deed
to the State of California recorded in Book 29691, page 310 of sale'
Official Records, said last mentioned intersection being also a
point in the westerly boundary of said City of Temple City; thence
northerly along said boundary to the point of beginning.
Excepting therefrom that portion thereof described as follows:
That parcel of land in the County of Los Angeles, State of
California included within the following described boundary:
Beginning at the intersection of the easterly prolongation of
the southerly line of Emperor Avenue (60 feet wide) as shown on
map of Tract No. 15813 recorded in Book 413, pages 3 and 4 of Maps
in the office of the County Recorder of said County with the south-
erly prolongation of the westerly line of Rosemead Boulevard (100
feet wide) as shown on said map, said intersection being a point in
the westerly boundary of the City of Temple City as the same exis-
ted on July 1, 1965; thence northerly along said boundary to the
easterly prolongation of the southerly line of Lot 7, said tract,
said southerly line having a bearing of N 750 14' 04" E and a
length of 84.97 feet and also being in the northerly line of Cal -
lita Street as shown on said map; thence westerly along said last
mentioned prolongation and said northerly line of Cailita Street
to the northerly prolongation of the westerly line of Lot 8, said
tract; thence southerly in a direct line to the southwesterly cor-
ner of said Lot 8; thence westerly along the southerly line of Lots
9 and 10 of said tract to the westerly line of Lot 59, Sunny Slope
Vineyard Subdivision No. 1 as shown on map recorded in Book 10,
page 112 of said Maps; thence southerly along said last mentioned
westerly line and its southerly prolongation to said southerly link_
of Emperor Avenue; thence easterly in a direct line to the point
of beginning.
SECTION 2. The polls at said election shall be opened at
7:00 o'clock a.m. of the day herein fixed for the holding of said
election and shall be kept open until 7:00 o'clock p.m. of the same
day, when the polls shall be closed.
SECTION 3. Upon the ballots to be used at said election
there shall be printed the words:
SHALL "ANNEXATION NO. 11" BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY
OF TEMPLE CITY?
Opposite these words there shall be printed the words
"Yes" and "No ", and to the right of each of these last two words
there shall be a voting square. If an elector shall stamp an "X"
in the voting square after the printed word "Yes ", the vote of suer
elector shall be counted in favor of the annexation of said terri-
tory to the City of Temple City, and if an elector shall stamp an
"X" in the voting square after the printed word "No ", the vote of
such elector shall be counted against such annexation.
In all particulars not herein recited said election shai`:
be held in conformity, as near as may be, with the laws of the
State of California concerning general elections and with said
Annexation Act of 1913.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall publish a notice of sai,
special election as required by the Annexation Act of 1913, at
least once a week for the four (4) weeks prior to the date of the
election on September 13, 1966, in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune,
a newspaper of general circulation printed and published outside o
the City of Temple City but in the County of Los Angeles, Calif-
ornia.

SECTION 5. This Resolution shall take effect upon its
publication.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution and cause the same to be published once in the
Temple City Times, a newspaper of general circulation, printed,
published and circulated in the City of Temple City.
