Leesburg Youth Job Fair Scheduled for Saturday, March 26,
2011 at ProJet Aviation
Leesburg, VA (March 19, 2011) –
Leesburg District Supervisor Kelly Burk
will host the 2nd annual Leesburg
Youth Job Fair on Saturday, March 26,
2011 from noon to 3 pm at ProJet
Aviation at Leesburg Executive Airport
on Sycolin Road.
Last year’s job fair, held at the former
Pohanka Chrysler-Dodge Dealership on
Catoctin Circle, was a resounding
success with over 600 youth and 40
businesses in attendance. Many of the
employers made hiring decisions on
the spot. John Zeismer, of Polo/Ralph Lauren, hired 12 employees for his store,
while Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority hired a number of students for their Student
Ambassador Program at Dulles Airport. Susan Berez, manager of Jockey at the Leesburg Corner
Premium Outlets said “It was worth it. I would do it every year.”
Supervisor Burk searched for a larger venue to hold this year’s job fair as the number of youth
that showed up to find employment was overwhelming. Shye Gilad, of ProJet Aviation, an
aircraft management and air charter company based out of Leesburg Executive Airport, stepped
up to offer his business’ corporate aircraft hangar. Other sponsors of the job fair include Gold-
level sponsor Middleburg Bank, Leesburg Today and the Loudoun Times-Mirror.
“I knew there was a need to provide a venue for both employers and employees to come
together, but I had no idea how badly it was needed until 600 kids walked through the doors
last year,” said Supervisor Burk, “This is a wonderful, time-saving opportunity for employers to
talk with many prospects in a three hour period and an equally great opportunity for young
adults to talk to a number of employers all in one place.”
Supervisor Burk is also partnering with the Loudoun Workforce Resource Center to offer a
Youth Job Fair Readiness 101 Workshop which will offer tips and advice on resume writing and

interview skills. It will take place on Wednesday, March 23, 2011, from 5 pm to 7 pm at Rust
Library in Leesburg (www.loudoun.gov/WRC). INOVA Loudoun Hospital will also be at the job
fair giving out advice on how to conduct yourself during an interview.
The job fair is geared to high school and college age youth. Young people will have the
opportunity to talk with employers, submit applications, and even interview on the spot.
Attendees are encouraged to dress for success and should bring copies of their resumes or job
histories.
