A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARSON, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE
CLASSIFICATION PLAN, RESOLUTION NO 77-111, BY
ADOPTING THE REVISED AND/OR NEW JOB
CLASSIFICATIONS FOR ASSISTANT PLANNER, EVENT
SUPERVISOR (FORMERLY COMMUNITY CENTER
SUPERVISOR AND EVENT SUPERVISOR), COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT MANAGER, EVENT SERVICES
COORDINATOR, HOUSING AND DEVELOPMENT
PROGRAM MANAGER (FORMERLY REDEVELOPMENT
ANALYST), OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE
SUPERINTENDENT (FORMERLY PUBLIC WORKS
OPERATIONS MANAGER), RECREATION
SUPERINTENDENT AND TRANSPORTATION SERVICES
SUPERVISOR
WHEREAS, the Director of Human Resources and Risk Management is authorized and
directed under provisions of Sections 2797.1 and 2797.3 of the Carson Municipal Code to
prepare and recommend position classification and compensation plans, after consultation with
the affected Directors, which becomes effective upon approval by the City Council.
WHEREAS, Rule III of the City of Carson Personnel Rules provides that modification to
the classification plan, embodied in Resolution No. 77-111, shall be made only after the Director
of Human Resources and Risk Management consults with the affected Directors and affected
recognized employee organizations.
WHEREAS, the Director of Human Resources and Risk Management, has consulted with
the affected parties concerning this classification.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON,
CALIFORNIA, HEREBY FINDS, DETERMINES AND RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The above recitals are true and correct.
Section 2. The class specification for ASSISTANT PLANNER, (Salary Range
152 — $5,181 — $6,612), assigned to the Carson Professionals and Supervisors Association
(CPSA) is hereby adopted.
Section 3. The class specification for COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
MANAGER, (Salary Range 171 — $9,608 — $12,260), assigned to the Association of
Management Employees (AME) is hereby adopted.

Section 4. The class specification for EVENT SERVICES SUPERVISOR,
(Salary Range 150 — $5,721 — $7,301), assigned to the Carson Professionals and Supervisors
Association (CPSA) is hereby adopted.
Section 5. The class specification for EVENT SERVICES COORDINATOR,
(Salary Range 337 — $4,415 — $5,624), assigned to the American Federation of State,
County and Municipal Employees Union (AFSCME) is hereby adopted.
Section 6. The class specification for HOUSING AND DEVELOPMENT
PROGRAM MANAGER, (Salary Range 165 - $8,287 - $10,574) assigned to the Carson
Professionals and Supervisors Association (CPSA), is hereby adopted.
Section 7. The .class specification for OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE
SUPERINTENDENT, (Salary Range 166 - $8,493 - $10,837) assigned to the Association of
Management Employees (AME), is hereby adopted.
Section 8. The class specification for RECREATION SUPERINTENDENT,
(Salary Range 166 - $8,493 - $10,837) assigned to the Association of Management
Employees (AME), is hereby adopted.
Section 9. The class specification for TRANSPORTATION SERVICES
SUPERVISOR, (Salary Range 156 - $6,636 - $8,469), assigned to the Carson Professionals
and Supervisors Association (CPSA) is hereby adopted.
