HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 66-639RESOLUTION NC. 66 -639 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY EULOGIZING WILLIAM H. PARKER, CHIEF OF POLICE OF THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES RESOLVE: 1. That William H. Parker died July 16, 1966, after serving 16 years as Chief and 37 years as a police officer of the City of Los Angeles; 2. That during his tenure in the police service Chief Parker made, earned and merited a reputation as an honest, fear- less, fair and unswerving enforcer of the concepts of the rule of law and the necessity of respect for law and order; 3. That his efficient and effective service in the City of Los Angeles has redounded to the benefit of the residents of the City of Temple City and the environs of the metropolitan area; 4. That accordingly the highest of accolades are hereby bestowed upon Chief Parker and condolences are offered to his bereaved family. The City Clerk shall, and he is hereby directed to, send a copy of this Resolution to members of the family of Chief Parker and to any other persons to whom it would be of interest.
