MEDINA CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES OF MAY 20, 2008
The City Council of Medina, Minnesota met in special session on May 20, 2008 at 6:06
p.m. in the Medina City Hall. Mayor Crosby presided.
I. Call to Order
Members present: Weir, Crosby, Smith, Cavanaugh
Members absent: Johnson
Also present:
City Administrator Chad Adams, Planning Director Tim Benetti,
Finance Director Jeanne Day, Police Chief Ed Belland, Ehlers
Consultants Dave Callister and John North.
II. Financial Management Plan
Callister provided an overview of the draft Financial Management Plan and stated a final
draft would be available in July. Discussion was held on the draft plan and analyses.
The Council directed staff and Ehlers to incorporate a total tax levy percentage line on
the front page and to readjust the inflation for 2009.
III. Plymouth Comprehensive Plan
Benetti provided a presentation on the major comments to be provided to the City of
Plymouth on their Comprehensive Plan. Discussion was held on the comments and
presentation.
The Council directed staff to provide revised comments pertaining to preferred access to
Peony Lane from the Speak the Word Church and Erickson properties; Plymouth burden
of cost to make signalization improvements to the TH55/CSAH 101 intersection,
CR47/CSAH 101 intersection, or any other new intersections, as a result of increased
Plymouth traffic/density; objections to the proposed commercial land use at the CR47
and CSAH 101 intersection in Plymouth; and, to provide a the memo in the next Council
packet for discussion.
IV. Adjournment
The sheeting was adjourned at 6:58 p.m.
