HomeMy Public PortalAbout18-063 - Establishing New Fees and Charges for Goods and Services Provided by the City and Amending the Schedule of FeesRESOLUTION NO. 18-063 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING NEW FEES AND CHARGES FOR GOODS AND SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE CITY OF CARSON AND AMENDING THE COMPREHENSIVE SCHEDULE OF FEES ADOPTED BY RESOLUTION NO. 18- 063. WHEREAS, on December 19, 2017, following a public hearing, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 17-169 amending the City's Schedule of Fees; and WHEREAS, as part of the annual budget process all departments review the existing fees and charges to determine if changes to the Comprehensive Schedule of Fees are recommended; and WHEREAS, City staff has recommended the fee increases indicated in this Resolution (the "proposed fee schedule"); and WHEREAS, City staff analyzed the costs of providing certain City services, including any materials related thereto; and WHEREAS, on June 7, 2018, and June 14, 2017, a notice of the public hearing to be held on June 19, 2018, regarding the proposed fee increases was published in Our Weekly; and WHEREAS, all interested parties that requested notice of the proposed fee increases were notified, in writing, ten days prior to the public hearing to be held on June 19, 2018, regarding the same; and WHEREAS, at least ten days prior to the June 19, 2018, public hearing, the City made available to the public data indicating the amount of the cost, or estimated cost, required to provide the service for which the fee or service charge is levied and the revenue sources anticipated to provide the service, including General Fund revenues; and WHEREAS, on June 19, 2018, the City Council held a duly noticed public hearing at which oral and written testimony was received and considered; and WHEREAS, the City Council now desires to adopt the proposed fee schedule, which amends the fee schedule adopted pursuant to Resolution No. 17-169 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON HEREBY FINDS, RESOLVES AND ORDERS AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The above recitals are true and correct and incorporated fully herein. Section 2. Powered Speaker Package Community Center Discounted Room Rental Rates Non -Profit Rate (discount rate equal to 70% of full rate). Applies to local non-profit agencies typically organizations that are designated as 501(c)(3) and whose membership consist of 75% or more Carson residents or can show proof that services rendered or participation at a specific event includes 75% or more Carson residents. Resident Rate (discount rate equal to 50% of full rate). Resident must be the applicant, show proof of residency and must be present at all times during the event. Government Rate. Minimum rate of $250 for 1-500 attendees, or $500 for 501 or more attendees. Renter will also pay City's actual staff time multiplied by the rate of wages and benefits, plus the City's out-of-pocket costs. Fiat Rate.
