Proposals. Proposals for the 2021 Landscape Maintenance
(Various Locations) Contract, Village of Plainfield, Will County, Illinois, will be received until
10:00 A.M. on March 30, 2021 by email only. All proposals shall be emailed to Arlan Schattke,
Staff Engineer, at aschattke@goplainfield.com prior to 10:00 A.M. on March 30, 2021 to be
considered a valid proposal. Please include "2021 Landscape Maintenance Contract Proposal -
Submittal" in the subject line of the emailed proposal submittal.
2. Description of Work. An approximate statement of work to be completed as follows:
Perform landscape maintenance and other miscellaneous items of work at various
locations throughout the Village of Plainfield including mowing, Spring and Fall cleanup, bed
care and mulching, pruning and shearing, fertilization and weed control.
3. Information for Bidders. Copies of the Proposal Documents may be
obtained/examined, at no cost, from the Village of Plainfield Public Works Facility at 14400 S.
Coil Plus Drive, Plainfield, IL 60544 or by contacting Arlan Schattke at
aschattke@goplainfield.com.
To be considered for the contract, a Contractor must have a minimum of three (3) years
previous municipal experience.
Patrick Miller, Village of Plainfield Streets Department Superintendent, (815) 436-3577 will be
the contact person for the Village of Plainfield.
The Village of Plainfield is exempt from the Illinois State, municipal or county Retailers
Occupation Tax, Service Occupation Tax, Use Tax, and Service Use Tax as described in Illinois
Compiled Statute Chapter 35. Proposal prices shall not include the cost of such taxes.
Following contract award by the Plainfield Village Board, a Performance Bond will be required
from the selected contractor(s) in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total cost of the
proposal.
4. Rejection of Proposals. The Board of Trustees reserves the right to reject any or all
Proposals and to waive technicalities. Unless the Proposals are rejected for good cause, award
of contract shall be made to the lowest responsible and responsive contractor.
