RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION #96-154
WHEREAS, by Resolution #96-154, the Borough of Carteret (the "Borough")
retained the legal services of John Schantz~ Esq. in connection with the defense action
involving Officer Michael Wurst; and
WHEREAS, said defense required more services than originally anticipated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Borough Council
that the amount of funds to be expended in connection with the defense of the
referenced matter is increased by $390.00, with the cumulative total of funds
expended pursuant to Resolution #96-154 and this resolution, not to exceed
$1,390.00.
BE IT FURTFIER RESOLVED that this amendment is made without competitive
bids in accordance with NJ. SA. 40A:11-5 (1) (a) due to the specialized and
professional nature of the service.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that notice of this action shall be published in The
Home News and Tribune on December 23, 1997.
Adopted this 18th day of December, 1997
and certified as a true copy of the original
on December 19, 1997.

THE CONTRACTOR does hereby agree to perform the following
PROFESSIONAL SERVICE TO RETAIN THE LEGAL SERVICES IN CONNECTION
WITH THE DEFENSE ACTION INVOLVING SGT. MICHAEL WURST.
According to the terms set forth in Resolution.
THE BOROUGH does hereby agree to pay the Contractor the sum set
forth in Resolution.
