Please call the Planning Department if you cannot attend. 732-2104 or 406-8393 (voice mail, anytime, local call) MINUTES Hillsborough Planning Board June 28, 1994 Members Present: Bill Crowther, Stuart Munson, Wendy Olson, Louise Long, Quanda Turner, Kendall Abernathy, Wayne Tilley Staff Present: Margaret Hauth, Planning Director Crowther called the meeting to order at 6:32 PM. ITEM #1: The members asked to add a discussion about NC 86 and I-40. No action was taken. ITEM #2: Olson provided an update on Occoneechee Park. ITEM #3: Hauth noted the Town Board would consider whether the send the PUD language to public hearing at their upcoming meeting. ITEM #5: Hauth presented the final draft language for a text amendment reducing the setback for utility buildings. She noted a vote from the board was necessary to place the item on a public hearing agenda. MOTION: Abernathy moved to send the revised language to public hearing. Turner seconded. VOTE: Unanimous Hauth discussed the proposed setback reduction for non -conforming lots and explained the impact on buildable area shown in the drawing in the packet. MOTION: Abernathy moved to send the revised language to public hearing. Munson seconded. VOTE: Unanimous ITEM #4: With the arrival of Mike Parker, the members returned to agenda item 4 — text amendment requests from Duke Power. Hauth noted the letter details the request from Duke Power to refer to electric transmission lines in the permitted use table separately from other major public works like treatments plants and towers. He said his client was also asking that transmission lines be permitted by right in the GC and HIC districts. The members discussed the request, but took no formal action. ITEM #6: Hauth noted the items scheduled for the July public hearing were listed on the reverse of the agenda in the packet. The meeting was adjourned at 7:38 PM.
