FIRST AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT CARSON REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
PARSONS Project No. 919: Wilmington Avenue Interchange
Modification at the 1-405 Freeway.
This First Amendment to the Agreement for Professional Services (the "First
Amendment"), to be effective December 4, 2007, is hereby entered into by and
between the Carson Redevelopment Agency (herein "Agency"), and Parsons
Transportation Group Inc. (Hereinafter called "Engineer"), and is an amendment to the
Agreement for Professional Services ("Agreement") executed by the parties and
effective as of September 5, 2006.
R E C I T A L S
A. Agency and Engineer have entered into that certain "Agreement for Professional
Services" to perform the technical and professional services, in connection with the project
identified as: Project No. 919: Wilmington Avenue Interchange Modification at the 1-405
Freeway.
B. Accordingly, the parties desire to amend the Agreement to expand the
description of work and increase the compensation by $96,972.21 to perform work
beyond that provided in the original description of work.

the promises, covenants, and conditions herein contained, the parties hereto agree to
the terms of this First Amendment and hereby amend the following provisions of the
Contract:
1. Section 3. Description of Work: is hereby amended, to add the additional
Scope of Work attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by this reference.
2. . Section 10. Compensation: is hereby amended, to increase the total
compensation by an amount not -to -exceed ninety six thousand nine hundred seventy
two dollars and twenty one cents ($96,972.21) attached hereto as Exhibit "B" and
incorporated herein by this reference.
Except as amended by this First Amendment, all other provisions of the
Contract shall remain unmodified and in full force and effect.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have caused their duly authorized

Following items are added to the Exhibit "A" of the original scope of services for the
above referenced project,
Part I - Drill Geotechnicall Boring at the Center of the Domingues
Mrs. Patty McCauley's Caltrans email dated August 16, 2007 highlights th
need for performing an exploratory boring at the center of the Domingu
Channel. Approval of the design of the bridge over the channel is continge
upon completion of the additional geotechnical investigations and report. Thl
cost associated with this task is estimated at $38,000.00

Caltrans' memorandum dated July 10, 2007 states that the viability of
information collected for a Phase I Site Assessment (ISA) should not exceed
180 days from the date of property acquisition. The ISA dated
September 2002, must be revised to evaluate current site conditions. The
cost associated with this task is estimated at $6,500.00

Caltrans' memorandum dated July 10, 2007 mentions three gasoline service
stations under investigation by the Regional Water Quality Control Board, Los
Angeles Region. The memorandum indicates that groundwater
contamination plumes from two of the service stations have migrated under
the project area and must be investigated. The cost associated with this task
is estimated at $52,472.21.
