Orange Street P.O. Box 429 (919) 732-2104 ITEM #1: Rezoning Request for Town of Hillsborough to rezone 1.43 ac on the south side of Cornelius St from. Neighborhood Business to General Commercial. This property is owned by John Wright and is known as Tax Map 4.14.A.4. ITEM #2: Rezoning Request for Harold Latta to rezone 71 ac from R-40(40,000 sf minimum lot) to R-20(20,000 sf minimum lot) on the east side of NC 57 (TM 4.6.A.16). This request has been modified from the earlier request for R=15. ITEM #3: Close public hearing. WORK SESSION ITEM #4: Discussion of proposed Planned Unit Development District (attachments). ITEM #5: Discussion of transportation priorities for 1996-2002 Transportation Improvement Program. A quorum of both boards is required for the public hearing. Please call the Town Clerk (ext 224) or Planning Dept. (ext 228) if you cannot attend. MINUTES Joint Public Hearing Hillsborough Town Board and Planning Board September 19, 1994 Members Present: Mayor Horace Johnson, Evelyn Lloyd, Allen Lloyd, Remus Smith, Richard Simpson, and Catherine Martin; Planning Board Chair Bill Crowther, Sam Jones, Wendy Olson, Louise Long, Pat Shannon, Doreen Tuell, Richard Bradford, and Wayne Tilley Staff Present: Margaret Hauth, Planning Director Mayor Johnson called the hearing to order at 7:05 PM. He passed the gavel to Planning Board Chair Crowther who briefly described the public hearing process. ITEM #1: Hauth introduced the rezoning request involving 1.43 acres on the south side of Cornelius Street from Neighborhood Business to General Commercial. Hauth noted the file indicated the owner, Mr. Wright, had previously attempted to rezone the property in question. Alonzo Kenion, neighboring owner, spoke regarding this request. ITEM #2: Hauth introduced the rezoning request involving 71 acres on the east side of NC 57 from R-40 to R-20. She noted the applicant has modified his request to the R-20 zone rather than the R-15 previously reviewed. J.C. Edwards, William Shambley, William Dodson, Earl Thomas, and Chandler Cates spoke on this request. MOTION: Remus Smith moved to close the public hearing. Evelyn Lloyd seconded. VOTE: Unanimous Bill Crowther passed the gavel back to Mayor Johnson, who adjourned the Town Board members. The . Planning Board members briefly discussed the proposed zoning ordinance language for Planned Unit Development districts. The members asked Hauth to find out when the NCDOT requires traffic impact studies and/or turn lanes. Hauth noted the public hearing items would appear on the October Town Board agenda.
