A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON,
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2018-19 SPECIAL FUNDS
BUDGET FOR THE 50th ANNIVERSARY TIME CAPSULE
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted the Fiscal Year 2018-19 budget on June 19, 2018 for the
General Fund and Special Revenue Funds of the City via Resolution No. 18-069; and
WHEREAS, on the occasion of a major milestones or anniversaries of a municipality it is common
to create and entomb a time capsule commemorating the event; and
WHEREAS, it being the 50'h anniversary of the City of Carson's creation, it would be an
appropriate anniversary to celebrate by creating and entombing such a time capsule; and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost of the project includes $15,000 for a capsule container, archival
document preservation materials, other physical materials and labor needed to prepare and entomb the
time capsule; $1,500 for plaque designating pertinent information for the capsule; and $3,500 other
costs associated with the creation, procurement, and preparation of the capsule and its contents; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined it necessary to amend the FY18-19 Special Funds
Budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, FIND,
DETERMINE, AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The fallowing amendment(s) will be made to the City's FY18-19 budget.

Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall keep a copy of
this resolution attached to the FY18-19 budget on file, and effective as of November 7th, 2018, the same
shall be in force and effect.
