REHAU to Host 2011 “Sustainable Loudoun” Energy &
Environmental Sustainability Awards
Leesburg, VA (April 20, 2011) – REHAU, an international polymer innovator in construction,
automotive and industry, will host the REHAU/Sustainable Loudoun Energy & Environmental
Sustainability Awards ceremony on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at its North American
headquarters in Leesburg.
Celebrating the leaders who will innovate tomorrow’s sustainable solutions, the awards
ceremony will recognize four exceptional entries from the 30th Annual Loudoun County
Regional Science & Engineering Fair competition. Held in March 2011 in Ashburn, the
competition showcased entries from more than 200 Loudoun County high school students.
This year’s REHAU/Sustainable Loudoun Energy & Environmental Sustainability Awards winners
include:
• First Place: Anson Rosenthal, Park View High School
• Second Place: Colin O’Donnell, Dominion High School
• Third Place: Jana Hertzog, Dominion High School
• Honorable Mention: Adithya Saikumar, Briar Woods High School
The students will officially receive their awards at next week’s ceremony from Jeff Platenberg,
assistant superintendent for support services at Loudoun County Public Schools.
In addition to the awards ceremony, David Conrath, director of planning, design and
construction for Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) and Dr. Patrick Hatcher, professor at Old
Dominion University and executive director of the Virginia Coastal Energy Research Consortium,
will provide insight and inspiration as they share their sustainability-driven work in cutting-edge
policy and technology development.
The REHAU/Sustainable Loudoun Energy & Environmental Sustainability Awards ceremony will
be held on April 27 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the REHAU North American headquarters building,
1503 Edwards Ferry Road NE. Attendance, including refreshments and all presentations, is free
