RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION #97-280
WHEREAS, by Resolution #97-280, the Borough of Carteret (the "Borough")
retained the legal services of Gary Stowell to provide certain legal and managerial
services; and
WHEREAS, the amount originally appropriated is insufficient to fund the necessary
services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Borough Council
that the amount of funds to be expended in connection with the defense of the
referenced matter is increased by $5,000.00, with the cumulative total of funds
expended pursuant to Resolution #97-280 and this resolution, not to exceed
$30,000.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this amendment is made without competitive
bids in accordance to NJ.S.A. 40A:11-5 (1) (a) due to the specialized and
professional nature of the service.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that notice of this action shall be published in The
Home News and Tribune on December 23, 1997.
Adopted this 18th day of December, 1997
and certified as a true copy of the original
on December 19, 1997.

THE CONTRACTOR does hereby agree to perfbrm the following
PROFESSIONAL SERVICE RETAINED LEGAL SERVICE TO PROVIDE CERTAIN
LEGAL AND MANAGERIAL SERVICES.
According to the terms set forth in RESOLUTION.
THE BOROUGH does hereby agree to pay the Contractor the sum set
forth in Resolution.
