AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR SURVEYING SERVICES
WHEREAS, there exists a need for surveying services in connection with the Post
Blvd. Project by the Borough of Carteret (the "Borough"); and
WHEREAS, John Cilo CCilo") is a licensed surveyor and has provided satisfactory
services in the past; and
WHEREAS, Cilo has offered the lowest price to perform said surveying services;
and
WHEREAS, this contract is being awarded without competitive bidding n that the
surveying services are an extraordinary unspecified service exempt from bidding
pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:l 1-5 (a) (i); and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Chief Financial Officer has certified that this meets the
Statute and Regulations governing the Award of said Contracts and that funds are
-- available for the payment of such contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Borough Council of the
Borough of Carteret that the Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to
execute a contract for surveying services with John Cilo not to exceed $5,000.00 at
an hourly rate as per attached schedule.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this contract is awarded without competitive
bidding in that the services to be provided are an extraordinary unspecified service
pursuant to N.J.S.A 40A:l 1-5 (a) (i).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Notification of the Contract Awarded shall be
printed in The Home News and Tribune on December 23, 1997.
Adopted this 18th day of December, 1997
and certified as a true copy of the original
on December 19, 1997.
