SANITARY DISTRICT
RATE RESOLUTION NO. 2 -2009
WHEREAS, there exists sewer utility rates for the users in the Richmond Sanitary
District ('District ") that were adopted November 14, 1995 by Resolution 19 -1994 of the Board
of Sanitary Commissioners ('Board "), as amended by Resolution No. 7 -2004 on June 8, 2004,
and approved by Ordinance No. 93 -1995 of the Common Council of the City of Richmond
( "City "), as amended by Ordinance No. 46 -2004;
WHEREAS, the Board for the District has caused studies to be prepared which reveal an
increase in the sewer utility rates is necessary for the continued maintenance and operation of the
District in its collection, treatment and disposal of waste and sewage into the District treatments
works facility; and
WHEREAS, IC 36- 9- 25 -11(e) requires a change of fees be approved by the Common
Council of the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF SANITARY
COMMISSIONERS OF THE RICHMOND SANITARY DISTRICT, THAT:
Section 1. The Board does hereby, after public hearing, recommend the following
changes to the sewer utility rates and requests that the Common Council of the City approve the
rates and charges as follows:
1. TREATMENT RATE

Residential /Commercial $3.03
Industrial 2.70
2. MONTHLY BASE RATE (ALL CLASSES)

Section 2. The above proposed rates should be taken to the Common Council for its
approval in ordinance form.
Section 3. All other provisions of and all other rates and charges established by
Ordinance No. 93 -1995, as amended by Ordinance No. 46 -2004, shall remain in full force and
effect.
Section 4. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
