HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 66-663RESOLUTION NO. 66 -663 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY GRANTING CONSENT AND JURISDIC- TION TO THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES IN THE MAT- TER OF COUNTY LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 1395. WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles is about to commence proceedings under Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code, for the annexation of territory to County Lighting Maintenance District No. 1395; and WHEREAS, the . proposed annexation will have street lights installed in the City of Temple City; and WHEREAS, all of the land included in the proposed annexation lies within the boundary of the City of Temple City, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Temple City as follows: SECTION 1. That the public interest, convenience and neces- sity require the maintenance of a street lighting system located within said territory as shown on the attached map of the annexa- tion to County Lighting District No. 1395 as set forth in the proposed Resolution of Intention of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles for this annexation, a copy of which resolu- tion, incomplete as to dates and similar information which can only be inserted at the time of adoption, is attached hereto and made a part hereof. SECTION 2. That this City Council hereby consents to the annexation of said territory as described in said proposed Resolu- tion of Intention, included within the boundaries of said annexa- tion, and lying within the boundary of the City of Temple City. SECTION 3. That this City Council hereby finds and deter- mines that the lands included within the boundary of the proposed annexation as set forth in said proposed Resolution of Intention, lying within the boundary of the City of Temple City, will be benefited by the said proposed annexation to the maintenance dis- trict, and hereby consents to the inclusion of said lands within the proposed annexation and to the assessment thereof. SECTION 4. That the consent of this City Council is hereby given to the commencement of the proceedings for said annexation to County Lighting Maintenance District No. 1395 by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles, and to the exercise of exclusive jurisdiction of said Board of Supervisors over all pro- ceedings necessary thereto for the purpose of consummating the same, all in accordance with the provisions of Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code. SECTION 5. That the Clerk of the City Council is hereby directed to certify and deliver two copies of this resolution to the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles. SECTION.6. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this resolution by the City Council of the City of Temple City and shall cause the same to be posted in three (3) conspicuous places in the City of Temple City, and it shall thereupon take effect. That public interest and convenience require that the benefited territory hereinafter described, all of which territory lies in the County of Los Angeles, be annexed to, and it is the intention of the Board of Supervisors to order that it be annexed to, included within, and hereafter be a part of County Lighting Maintenance District No. 1395 , pursuant to and in accordance with Sections 5837 et seq. of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, as amended. 2. The territory proposed to be so annexed consists of the area outlined on the attached map and /or included within boundaries described as follows: _ ANNEXATION TO COUNTY LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 1395 (Petition No. $9 -56) ( In the City of Temple City) Beginning at the intersection of a line parallel with and 162 feet easterly, measured at right angles, from the center line of Cloverly Avenue, 60 feet wide, (formerly Ramona Avenue) as shown on map of Mission View Acres recorded in Book 12, page 150, of Maps, in the office of the Recorder of the County of Los Angeles, and a line parallel with and 130 feet northerly, measured at right angles, from the center line of Broadway, 60 feet wide, as shown on said map; thence easterly along said last mentioned parallel line to the easterly line of the westerly 197 feet of Lot 19 of said Mission View Acres; thence northerly along said easterly line to the northerly line of said lot; thence easterly in a direct line through the northeasterly corner of said lot to the easterly line of the westerly 173.615 feet of Lot 34 of said Mission View Acres; thence southerly along said last mentioned easterly line to the northerly line of the southerly 91 feet of said last mentioned lot; thence westerly along said last mentioned northerly line to the easterly line of the westerly 63.615 feet of said last mentioned lot; thence southerly along said last mentioned easterly line to the southerly line of said last mentioned lot; thence southerly in a direct line to the intersection of the northerly line of Lot 39 of said Mission View Acres and a line parallel with and 103.7 feet easterly, measured at right angles, from the center line of Temple City Boulevard, $0 feet wide, (formerly Sunset Boulevard) - 1 - " 1 1 ANNEXATION TO COUNTY LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 1395 (Petition No. $9 -56) (In the City of Temple City)(Continued) as shown on said map; thence southerly along said last mentioned parallel line to the southerly line of the northerly 100 feet of said last mentioned lot; thence westerly along said last mentioned southerly line and its westerly prolongation to said last mentioned center line; thence southerly along said last mentioned center line to a line parallel with and 1$0.49 feet southerly, measured at right angles, from said center line of Broadway; thence westerly along said last mentioned parallel line to the boundary of Longden Lighting District as same existed on June 1, 1966; thence northerly, westerly and northerly along said boundary to the point of beginning. No. 89 -56 The Board of Supervisors hereby fixes , the day of , 19 , at the hour of o'clock a.m., as the day and hour, and the Hearing Room of the Board of Supervisors, Room 381, Hall of Administration, 500 West Temple Street (corner of Temple Street and Grand Avenue), Los Angeles, California 90012, as the place, for hearing upon the question of annexation of said territory, when and where any and all persons having objections to the proposed annexa- tion or to the inclusion of any property within the proposed annexation, may appear before said Board of Supervisors and show cause why said proposed annexation should not be made in accordance with this resolution of intention. The Clerk is hereby directed to cause notice of the time, place and purpose of said hearing to be published once a week for two successive weeks in the , a newspaper of general circulation which the Board of Supervisors deems most likely to give notice of said hearing to the inhabitants of said district and of said territory proposed to be annexed; and to cause notices of said hearing to be posted not less than 10 days prior to the date set for the hearing in three conspicuous places within the territory proposed to be annexed and within said County Lighting Maintenance District No. 1395 ; and to cause postcard notices to be mailed to all inhabitants of the area to be annexed to said County Lighting Maintenance District, all in the form and manner prescribed in Section 5838 of the Streets and Highways Code. The foregoing resolution was on the day of _ , 19, adopted by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles, and ex officio the governing body of all other special assessment and taxing districts for which said Board so acts.
