Bachrach Photography Honors Area Leaders With Portrait
Exhibit During Leesburg’s First Friday on May 6, 2011
Leesburg, VA (April 25, 2011) – At 6:00 p.m., on Friday, May 6, 2011, Town of Leesburg officials
will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for the grand opening of Bachrach Photography’s portrait
exhibit honoring the Town’s current and historical leaders. The event will be held at 14 South
King Street in historic downtown Leesburg.
One of the oldest and most prestigious photography studios in the country, Bachrach
Photography is pleased to announce their arrival in Leesburg by honoring the achievements of
the area’s movers and shakers in a portrait exhibit. The exhibit includes portraits of current
Leesburg Mayor Kristen C. Umstattd, former Leesburg Mayor Robert Sevila, Peter Burnett, Bob
Anderson, Stanley Caulkins and Johnny Rocca. The exhibit will also feature perspectives from
Bachrach’s rich and colorful photographic history.
“The quality of the photos is superb,” said Marantha Edwards, Leesburg’s Economic
Development Manager. “Featuring Leesburg community leaders and business professionals in
this way is a great celebration of the history of our town.”
The Bachrach Family opened their first studio in 1868 in Baltimore, Maryland. Today, after 143
years, the business is still owned and operated by the Bachrach family. Bachrach has the
distinction of having photographed every U.S. President from Abraham Lincoln to George H.W.
Bush. Presenting this exhibit are Harold and Jeanne Brown, Bachrach’s partners at their Old
Town Alexandria and Times Square (New York City) studios. For more information, please visit
