A RESOLUTION CANCELING THE COUNCIL MEETING
NORMALLY SCHEDULED FOR DECEMBER 25, 2018 DUE
TO THE NATIONAL HOLIDAY AND AUTHORIZING
PAYMENT OF WARRANTS BY STAFF PRIOR TO THE
JANUARY 8, 2019 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Riverdale ("City") recognizes that the date of
its second regularly scheduled Council meeting falls on Tuesday, December 25th, 2018, which is
Christmas Day, a national holiday and a day that City Hall is closed for business; and,
WHEREAS, there is generally little business to be conducted at this time of year, and as
such,most business of the Council can be held over to the next meeting; and,
WHEREAS,there are certain bills and warrants that the City is obligated to pay in a
timely fashion so as to avoid penalties with its vendors; and,
WHEREAS,the City Council wishes to authorize those payments as are necessary.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF RIVERDALE, SCOTT COUNTY, IN THE STATE OF IOWA:
SECTION I: The City Council will not meet or hold its regular meeting on Tuesday,
December 25, 2018 and the City Clerk shall post notice of its cancellation.
SECTION II: The City Council authorizes payment of those warrants and bills which
must be paid in a timely fashion to avoid penalties, subject to after-the-fact approval by
Council of bills, paid.
