HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 2018-36, Authorizing MSA To Engage With City Of Bettendorf For Inspection Of Riverdale Sanitary Sewers For Inflow And Infiltration Prior To Frost Setting In RESOLUTION NO. 2018-36 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING MSA PROFESSIONAL SERVICES TO ENGAGE WITH THE CITY OF BETTENDORF FOR THE INSPECTION OF CITY OF RIVERDALE SANITARY SEWERS FOR INFLOW AND INFILTRATION PRIOR TO FROST SETTINNG IN WHEREAS, The City of Riverdale ("City") is a party with the cities of Davenport, Bettendorf and Panorama Park to a 28e intergovernmental agreement for provision of wastewater treatment at the Davenport wastewater treatment facilities, and the cities are making reasonable efforts to eliminate inflow and infiltration from groundwater and stormwater into their sewer collection systems; and, WHEREAS, the City's engineer MSA Professional Services ("MSA") has proposed certain tasks in conjunction with the City of Bettendorf to assist in identifying areas of its sewer collection system subject to inflow and infiltration ("I & I") so as to plan for repairs and correctives to its sewer system; and WHEREAS, having reviewed the proposal for three different scopes of work, the City Council finds it to be in its interest to pursue Option 3 with the City of Bettendorf for televising and smoke testing, with an estimated cost of$31,500. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RIVERDALE, SCOTT COUNTY, IN THE STATE OF IOWA: SECTION I: That the proposal from Christian R. Cooper, P.E., MSA, dated August 24, 2018, in"Re: 2018 I & I Review", shall be made part of and is hereafter a part of this resolution. SECTION II: That the City authorizes its staff and MSA to develop a proposal with the City of Bettendorf for carrying out"Option 3" for an estimated cost of$31,500 as stipulated therein with all due speed.
