REJECTING BIDS FOR THE CARTERET ANNUAL SEWER
SYSTEM EMERGENCY SERVICE CONTRACT
WHEREAS, in accordance with all applicable advertisement requirements, the
Borough of Carteret("Borough") has received bids for the Carteret Annual Sewer
System Emergency Service Contract; and
WHEREAS, the Borough had previously estimated the cost of said contract at
$120,000.00; and
WHEREAS, each bid has been deemed not reasonable as to price because each
exceeded said estimate by more than $86,000.00 or 72%; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the Borough hereby find it to be in the
best interest of the Borough to reject said bids.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Mayor and Council of the Borough
of Carteret in the County of Middlesex and State of New Jersey:
(1) All bids received for the Cartemt Annual Carteret Sewer System
Emergency Service Contract are rejected based upon the cost of
the same substantially exceeding the estimated amount;
(2) The Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized to publicly m-advertise
and to solicit bids for the Carteret Annual Sewer System
Emergency Service Contract subject to the terms and conditions of
the Borough's specifications, and if the Borough Engineer
recommends changes to the same, then further subject to said
changes.
Adopted this 3rd day of May, 2001
and certified as a true copy of the
original on May 4, 2001.
