RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING MAYOR AND CITY CLERK OF THE CITY OF TIFFIN, IOWA TO
EXECUTE AGREEMENT WITH THE IOWA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR A
TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM PROJECT NUMBER: STP -E -7662(609)-8V-
52 FOR THE PURPOSE OF FINANCING THE EAST TIFFIN TRAIL, PHASE FOUR PROJECT
WITH FEDERAL FUNDS.
WHEREAS THE City of Tiffin desires to extend the trail system within the city limits of Tiffin
easterly along the north side of Clear Creek on city public land for the purpose of enhancing the
enjoyment of recreational use and to join with the Metro Trail System being developed in Johnson
County, Iowa.
WHEREAS such agreement is for the purpose of constructing trail from Jasper Avenue easterly
along Clear Creek to 1-380 west R/W line. The estimated costs of $238,979.00 with TE Funds not
to exceed $161,844 with local estimated local contributions of $77,135.
THEREFORE IT IS AGREED IS AGREED THE City of Tiffin, Iowa will design, inspect and
administer construction of the primary trail project in accordance with the project plans and
Department of Transportation standard specifications. Upon completion and properly documented
billing, Department of Transportation will reimburse City for Department of Transportation share of
costs.
MOTION by Councilperson Chris Ball seconded by Councilperson Travis Weipert To adopt and
approve Resolution 2010-53 to execute an agreement with the Iowa Department of
Transportation.

NAY: None
ABSENT: Mike Gericke
Whereupon four votes having voted Aye, Mayor Phillips declared the Resolution 2010-53

signature thereto.
