AN APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL,
ACCEPTANCE, AND APPROPRIATION OF A GRANT FROM THE
U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY, FEDERAL
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY
WHEREAS, The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has funding available
through its Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, The City of Richmond Fire Department desires to submit a grant application to
obtain federal funds that will be used to purchase one (1) Quint 100 foot aerial
ladder truck; and
WHEREAS, A ten percent (10%) local match is required.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond,
Indiana, as follows:
1. The City of Richmond is authorized to accept said grant funding in an amount up to
Nine Hundred Thousand Dollars and Zero Cents ($900,000.00).
2. The City of Richmond, Indiana hereby commits to provide local funds from
Cumulative Capital Development (CCD) in an amount up to Ninety Thousand Dollars and Zero
Cents ($90,000.00) (10% of the total grant amount of $900,000.00) as required for said grant.
3. Said grant funding shall be used to purchase one (1) Quint 100 foot aerial ladder truck.
Passed and adopted this _1st day of _June 2009, by the Common Council of
the City of Richmond, Indiana.
