Bachrach Photography Premiers Exhibit Featuring
Photographs of Local and Historical Figures
Leesburg, VA (May 5, 2011) – At 6:00 p.m., on Friday, May 6, 2011, Bachrach Photography will
open their first Leesburg portrait exhibit honoring historical figures and local community
leaders. The event will be held at 14 South King Street in historic downtown Leesburg.
The oldest and most prestigious photography studio in the country, Bachrach Photography is
pleased to announce their arrival in Leesburg by hosting this exhibit of photographs from their
vast collection that features historical figures such as Inventors Henry Ford and Alexander
Graham Bell, Aviation Pioneers Charles Lindberg and Amelia Earhart, Supreme Court Justice
Thurgood Marshall, sports legends Joe Theismann and Joe Dimaggio, as well as world renowned
figures such as Indira Ghandi, Pope John Paul, as well as numerous U.S. Presidents including
Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy and Teddy Roosevelt to name a few. Also featured in the
exhibit will be some of our local celebrities including Arthur Godfrey, Leesburg Mayor Kristen C.
Umstattd, former Leesburg Mayor Robert Sevila, Peter Burnett, Bob Anderson, Stanley Caulkins
and Johnny Rocca.
The Bachrach Family opened their first studio in 1868 in Baltimore, Maryland. Today, after 143
years, the business is still owned and operated by the Bachrach family. Bachrach has the
distinction of having photographed every U.S. President from Abraham Lincoln to George H.W.
Bush. Presenting this exhibit are Harold and Jeanne Brown, Bachrach’s partners at their Old
Town Alexandria and Times Square (New York City) studios. For more information, please visit
