HomeMy Public PortalAbout05/25/82 Special CCM61 The Council of the City of Medina met in Special Session on Tuesday, May 25, 1982 at 5:15 P.M. Present: Mayor, Thomas Anderson; Councilmembers, William Reiser, Sarah Lutz, Thomas Crosby, Wilfred Scherer; Clerk -Treasurer, Donna Roehl; Attorney Richard Schaeffer Mayor Anderson stated that the purpose of the meeting was to consider the disposition of employment of Ron Duran in the Public Works Department, as the consensus of the members was to take some action regarding his employment with the City. Notice of meeting, signed by Ron Duran and Police Officer Michael Rouillard, was presented. DJembers discussed various methods that could be used for terminating employment. Richard Schieffer reported that Councilmember Scherer's memo dated January 28, 1982 had been provided to Mt. Duran. Wilfred Scherer requested that a report on recent cost of culvert purchaes and the culvert installation on Willow Dr., south of Co. Rd. 24, be placed in Mr. Duran's employment file and considered part of the record, together with the memo of January 28, 1982 and all other materials in the file. Motion by Crosby, seconded by Scherer to terminate Ron Duran's employment for the reasons set out in Councilmember Scherer's memo of January 28, 1982, the report on costs of cul- vert purchases and the culvert installation on Willow Dr., south of Co. Rd. 24. Motion declared carried Motion by Scherer, seconded by Lutz to hire James Dillman as Director of Public Works at $11.00 per hour, with a six month probation period of salary and posistion. Motion declared carried 2. POLICE CH1±;rHOOVER Discussion of paying accrued vacation and sick leave benefits to Verna Hoover. Donna Roehl presented schedule of time accrued and information regarding PERA benefits. Motion by Crosby, seconded by Scherer to pay Verna Hoover the full time accrued vacation and sick leave according to the schedule submitted.
