Mayor Steve Berner called the meeting to order at 5:49 PM. Upon roll being called the following Council Members Present: Peggy Upton, Jim Bartels, Al Havens, Mike Ryan, Eric Schnedler (Arrived 5:51 PM) Absent: None. Other members present: City Administrator Doug Boldt, City Clerk Ashley Platz, Building Official Brian Shay, City Engineer Ben Carhoff, City Attorney Crystal Raiber and others. B.Agenda Additions/Agenda Approval Motion to approve the agenda by Bartels. Second by Havens. All ayes, agenda approved. C.Discussion of Deer View Avenue and Highway 6 Intersection – Traffic Signal, HAWK Beacon, Roundabout Discussion: Ben Carhoff provided Council with research regarding safety of round-a-bouts vs Traffic Lights with dealing with pedestrian traffic. Upton discussed her personal research from the insurance statistic data. Ryan requested that staff, council and engineer research and compile data to help guide which is the safest for vehicles and pedestrians. D.Discussion of Sewer Reimbursement Agreement with Prairie Village Residential Development Discussion: Matt Adams, owner and developer requesting the City to and neighboring developers to help with the upsizing of the sewer main. For future growth, has to upgrade the 8 inch line to a 21 inch pipe for the 2200 linear feet. Council only has paid for the upgrade in materials only and nothing extra. Matt requested to be on next agenda and plans to have more data and numbers so council can review to potential sharing agreement to be reimbursed for additional costs for those to tie into line further north of his subdivision. E.Discussion of FY 2018-2019 Budget Discussion: Doug Boldt, City Administrator presented the budget expenses.
