HomeMy Public PortalAbout4/27/1989 specialGRFfNCAS1IE OOM )N CDUNCIL Special Session April 27, 1989 '• The Greencastle Common Council met in special session on Thursday, April 27, 1989 at 7:30 p.m. in City Hall. On call of the roll the following members were shown to be present: Councilor Sheri Roach, Councilor Tim Conway, Councilor Sue Murray, Councilor Bob Sedlack, Councilor Mike Rokicki. Also present was City Attorney Larry Wilson. The minutes of the previous meeting were tabled to the next regular session with a motion duly made by Councilor Murray, seconded by Councilor Sedlack, and carried by an aye unanimous vote. Ordinance 1989 -14, An Ordinance Concerning the Voluntary Annexation of Contiguous Territory to the City of Greencastle, Indiana, was presented to Council. and read in its entirety by Mayor Harmless. Councilor. Roach then moved to approve Ordinance 1989 -14 as presented. This motion was seconded by Councilor Rokicki. Mr. Phil Stoffregen was present in the audience, representing the Gerald K. Pedigo Corporation, to answer questions. Mr. Stoffregen indicated that an additional. 30 to 50 feet may be required on the northern edge of the property. Mr. Wilson stated that an amended petition could be filed at the time of determination of the need. In response to the question from Councilor Roach, Mr. Stoffregen noted that lighting within the complex would be the responsibility of complex. Mayor Harmless commented that possibly one new street light would be put in by the City to light the City right -of -way. On call of the roll, the motion was unanimously carried. Mayor Harmless declared Ordinance 1.989 -14 to have been passed on first reading. Resolution 1989 -10, A Resolution Declaring the Southern Highway a Controlled Access Highway, Project No. M -Q108, was presented to Council and read in its entirety by Mayor Harmless. Councilor Murray then moved to approve Resolution 1989 -10 as presented. This motion was seconded by Councilor Roach. Councilor Sedlack indicated that the access at France Stone Company would prevent the truck traffic from driving past the Greencastle Middle School property. On call of the roll, the motion was unanimously carried. Mayor Harmless declared Resolution 1989 -10 to have been passed and adopted. • With no further business, Councilor Roach moved for adjournment.
