A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE JOINT TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT FUNDS
FOR' INSTALLATION AND MAINTAINING OF WAYFINDING SIGNS ON THE JOHNSON
COUNTY COUNCIL OF GOVERNEMTS URBANIZED METRO TRAIL SYSTEM
WHEREAS, Transportation Enhancement Funds, from the Iowa Department of Transportation to be
received through the Johnson County Council of Governments (to be known as JCCOG),'have been
granted to the City of Tiffin in the amount of $535.00 with a 20% match from the City of Tiffin for the
amount of $107.00 one time match for Way -Finding Signs' on the Metro Area Trail System, that poition
that is located in the City Boundary of Tiffin.
WHEREAS, JCCOG has asked the City of Tiffin to be responsible for the, maintenance and
operation of the project and the City will adequately maintain the project for a term of not less than 20
years from the date of acceptance.

WHEREAS, upon FHWA approval the signs will be ordered by JCCOG and a map of locations for
installation will be designed and forwarded to the City of Tiffin. Signs will be ordered in February 2011`,
available for each individual city to install between mid-April to June 1, 2011. '
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the City Council of Tiffin, Iowa approves and endorses the
grant and matching funds for the installation and future maintenance of the trail and roadway way'-'- Fe
finding.signs as described above in the JCCOG Urbanized Area.
ON this 13th day of October 2010, Council person Chris Ball introduced Resolution 2010-50 and made
a motion for approval to authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into an agreement with JCCOG as
directed.by Resolution 2010-50 the motion was seconded by Council person Travis Weipert. I

Absent: Mike Gericke
Whereupon four.votes, Mayor Phillips declared the Resolution 2010-50 A RESOLUTION APPROVING
THE JOINT TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT FUNDS FOR INSTALLATION AND'
MAINTAINING OF WAYFINDING SIGNS ON THE JOHNSON COUNTY COUNCIL OF
GOVERNEMTS URBANIZED METRO TRAIL SYSTEM, be adopted and signified his approvaI,of the
same by affixing his signature thereto. I
PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 13TH DAY OF OCTOBER 2010
