A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TEMPLE CITY REQUESTING THE BOARD
OF SUPERVISORS OF LOS ANGELES COUNTY TO
GIVE CONSIDERATION TO THE PRESENT FLIGHT
PATTERN OF THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY EL
MONTE AIRPORT.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES RESOLVE:
SECTION 1. WHEREAS, the Los Angeles County E1 Monte Airport
is now operating in an area adjacent to the City of Temple City;
and
WHEREAS, the flight pattern of such Airport as it was formerly
constituted, was acceptable to the City of Temple City and to the
residents adjoining such airport facility; and
WHEREAS, the County of Los Angeles recently caused the flight
pattern of such Airport to be modified by shifting the down-wind
leg westerly over a residential area of the community; and
WHEREAS, such modification has caused grievous nuisance to the
residents of such residential area by overflights causing noise,
confusion and deprivation of property values; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Temple City has
previously held public hearings to hear complaints from such
residents and to hear explanations by County officers; and
WHEREAS, it does not at this point appear to the City Council
that such modification has been justified as a necessary regulation;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY
DOES RESOLVE that the Board of Supervisors of Los Angeles County
investigate and determine whether the flight pattern of such El
Monte Airport should not be restored to its former alignment;
thereby providing to the residential area of Temple City peace and
quiet formerly enjoyed.
SECTION 2. The Board of Supervisors is further requested to
minimize the general congestion and nuisance problems surrounding
such Airport by requesting and cooperating with the Federal Aviation
Agency in the installation of an appropriate control tower at such
Airport.
SECTION 3. The City Cleric shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolution and shall forward a certified copy hereof to the
Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles.

held on the 15thday of November , 1966, by the following
vote of the Council:
