HomeMy Public PortalAbout1988_09_27_R180 PRESENTED September 27, 1988 RESOLUTION NO. 88-180 ADOPTED September 27, 1988 A RESOLUTION: AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH SYDNOR HYDRODYNAMICS INCORPORATED FOR PROCUREMENT OF EQUIPMENT FOR %V~IE ROUTE 643 BOOSTER WATER PUMPING STATION WHEREAS, bids for the equipment procurement contract for the Route 643 Booster Water Pumping Station were opened on September 20, 1988; and WHEREAS, the lowest bid received is from Sydnor Hydrodynamics Incorporated of Richmond Virginia; and WHEREAS, although only one bid was received, Camp Dresser & McKee the town's engineering consultant, has recommended the contract to be awarded to Sydnor since the bid is responsive and within the engineer's cost estimate; and WHEREAS, the Director of Engineering and Public Works recommends the contract be awarded to Sydnor Hydrodynamics Incorporated; and WHEREAS, operation of the Route 643 Booster Water Pumping Station by the summer of 1989 is essential to permit the scheduled opening of the Coot Spring Elementary School; and WHEREAS, failure to meet this deadline will create an emergency condition under 8.5 of the Leesburg Purchasing Policy: THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia as follows: SECTION I. The manager is authorized and directed to enter in%o a lump sum contract on behalf of the town in a form approved by the town attorney in the amount of $241,065.00 with Sydnor Hydrodynamics Incorporated for 2 AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH SYDNOR HYDRODYNAMICS INCORPORATED FOR PROCUREMENT OF EQUIPMENT FOR THE ROUTE 643 BOOSTER WATER PUMPING STATION procurement of equipment for the Route 643 Booster Water Pumping Station.
