AWARD OF PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
CONTRACT PURSUANT TO THE LOCAL
PUBLIC CONTRACTS LAW
WHEREAS, there exists a need for professional services to
represent the Borough in negotiations and potential legal action against
Public Service Electric & Gas with regard to the cost imposed upon the
cost ~npqSed~upon theBordugh for street lighting.
; and
WHEREAS, funds are available for this purpose; and
WHEREAS, the Local Public Contracts Law (NJSA 40A:ll-1 et seq.)
requires that the resolution authorizing the award of contracts for
"Professional Services" without competitive bids and the contract itself
rmast be available for public inspection;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of
the Borough' of Carteret that:
1. Karcher, Salmond, Ronan&Raidone P.A.
is hereby appointed to represent the Borough in said services for a
fee not to exceed $2000.00 as per agreement (attached).
2. Said appointment is made without competitive bidding as a "Professional
Service" under the provisions of the Local Public Contracts Law
Because legal services
are a recognized~t!rofession,_licensed and certified by law.
3. A Notice of this action shall be printed once in The News Tribune on
January 24, 1995
Adopted this 19th day of January, 1995 and
certified as a true copy of the original on
January 20, 1995.

New Jersey, 0?008, hereinafter the "BOROUGH".
As per Resolution No. 95-30.
