INITIATING ZONING MAPAMENDMENT~ZM-105BYTHETOWNOF
LEESBURGOFTHELEESBURGZONING DISTRICT MAP
WI-TERE~, the Town directed a $135 million Comm,mi~;~ Development Block Grant towar~
the redevelopment and rev/t~li.~t-lon of the area near the interaction of South Ha~ison Street and
South Street; and
WHEREAS, selected properties within the Old and Historic District are zoned in the ~M-i"
Industrial District desioormtlon which permits rr~ny land uses that are incompatible with the Old
and Historic District; and
~, the Town Plan's lmnd Use Policy Map designates runny of these "M.-I' zoned
parcels in the Mixed Use/Downtown category which is more compatible with the revitalization
near the intersection of South Harrison Street and South Street:
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leeshurg in %rwginia .as follows:
SECTION I. An amendment of the Leesburg Zonin~ District Map is initisted by' the Town of
Leeshurg to ehsnooe from "M-l" Industrial District to "B-2" General B, mi,~eas District, those portions
of the McKimmey Feed site, L3165 acres shown on a plat prepared by Bengtson, deBell, Elldn and
Titus dated May 3, 1985 (Tax Map 48A (28)1), which are not included in the 'F-l" Flood Zone
SECTION H. The Planning Commission shall conduct a public hearing and shall, report its
recommendation on the proposed rezonino~ withir~ 60 days of the public hearing.
