PLAINFIELD BOARD OF POLICE COMMISSIONERS
MEETING MINUTES
February 18, 2021
Commissioner Greg Chapman called the February 18, 2021 meeting of the Board of
Police Commissioners to order at 6:02pm. In attendance were Commissioner Chapman,
Commissioner Schindlbeck, Commissioner Gardner, Chief Konopek and Kim McKinney. Due to
the Covid-19 pandemic this meeting was done via Zoom. The public was allowed and
encouraged to email all comments or questions they would like addressed to Commission
Administrative Assistant Kim McKinney by 3:00 p.m. February 18, 2021. No questions or
comments were received.
Public Forum: Citizen's Comments -None.
The minutes of the January 21, 2021 meeting were read, and Commissioner Chapman
moved the minutes to be approved, Commissioner Gardner seconded the motion. All in favor.
Correspondence- None
Old Business- Commissioner Chapman moves to decide on what testing company the
board will use. The Board has decided to use Stanard & Associates. Commissioner Gardner
makes a motion to use Stanard & Associates, Commissioner Schindlbeck seconds. All in favor.
Commissioner Chapman lets the board know that the current entry level list expires on
May 17, 2021. Chief would like the written exam to be in May for the new list to allow detectives
to complete background investigation to have our candidates ready by our reserved August
academy dates.
Commissioner Chapman updates the board on the Lateral hiring process. Now that a
company was chosen, he will begin to choose dates for the process. He suggests May 1, 2021
and/or May 8, 2021 for the written exam. Chief Konopek would like the application to be posted
and advertised by March 17, 2021.
Commissioner Chapman will work with Commission Administrative Assistant Kim
McKinney and a representative from Stanard & Associates to finalize details of the Lateral hiring
process to meet the desired posting date.
Commissioner Chapman would like to make sure that all Lateral applicants know they
should be on both Lateral list and entry level list to have the best chance of being hired by the
Village of Plainfield. The Village will choose what list to hire off as it best fits the needs of the
Village. Commissioner Chapman will work with Stanard & Associates to make sure that this is
properly communicated with all Lateral applicants during the application process.

There being no further business or discussion, Commissioner Chapman moved the
meeting be adjourned at 6:56pm.
