OF LEESBURG
WHEREAS, trees are a valuable resource; and
WI-~REAS, the planting of trees can enhance the beauty of our Town, contribute to energy
conservation, clean air, pure water, attenuate noise, and serve as an important resourc~ for future
generations; and
WHERF_d~, Arbor Day marks a time to consider and appreciate the value of trees among all
the residents of the community; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Leesburg designation as a Tree City USA is a goal of the Town
Council and Environmental Advisory Commi.~ion; and
WHEREAS, a formal observation of Arbor Day is a required standard for Tree City USA
eligibility.
~TI-IEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia ,as follows:
April 17 is hereby proclaimed as the official Arbor Day of the Town of Leesburg.
