A RESOLUTION: ENDORSING THE PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY COMMISSION 1989
WORK PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission has developed a comprehensive list
of work objectives for 1989; and
WI-IEREAS, these objectives are s,,mmRrized as follows:
1. Assist with the development of a town park ordinance.
2. Review concept plans of Potomac Crossing Park.
3. Review development plan of Exeter Park ballfield.
4. Participate and assist with the Greenway Study conducted by the National. Park Service.
5. Assist with the update of the Town Plan concerning parks and recreatiom
6. Participate in the department's speakers bureau by giving at least one talk to a civic or
community group promoting parks and recreatio~
7. Publish an annual report for council, admirdstration and citizens on parks and recreation
accomplishments.
8. Assist with the quarterly publications of ~Leesburg at Leisure".
9. Assist with special events conducted by the parks and recreation department.
10. Review and make recommendations as a result of the recreation interest survey conducted
in the Fall '88 issue of "Leesburg at Leisure".
11. Make recommendations for budget considerations to the Director of Parks and Recreatiom
12. Assist with the development of the capital improvements plan (CIP).
13. Assist with the development of a "gifts catalog~ to encourage donations from citizens,
groups, organizations and businesses.
14. Assist with the written development agreement of Ida Lee Park between the Town of
Leesburg and Loudoun County.
WHEREAS, council hms reviewed these objectives and is in complete agreement ss to their
appropriateness:
