RESOLUTION NO. 88-255
A REMOLUTION: GRANTING THE PLANNING COMMIMMION AN EXTENMION TO FEBRUARY,
1989, FOR REFERRING COMMERCIAL AND RESIDENTIAL ZONING DISTRICT
REGULATIONS AND AUTHOR~,rNG THE COMMISSION TO INITIATE
REVISIONS TO ARTICLES 8 AND 15 OF THE LEESBURG ZONING
ORDINANCE
WH~, revisions to Leesbur~s commercial and residential zoning districts were initiated
in 1986 and 1987 respectively by Town Council, in an effort to combine and recla~Cy the existing
Town and Loudoun County districts into a singte ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor on August 18, 1988, reafruuned the importance of these amendments and
requested that the Planning Commission forward their recommendations to Town Council by
December 15, 1988; and
WHEREAS, despite the diligent efforts of the staff, the Zoning Com~rdttee and the
Comprehensive Plan Committee of the Planning Commission in attempting to meet this deadline,
additional time is needed to prepare their recommendations; and
WHEREAS, additional amendments to related Article 8 and Article 15 of the Leesburg Zoning
Ordinance are required as part of the comprehensive revisions being sought.
THEREFORE, RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Leesburg in Virginia, as follows:
SECTION I. The Planning Commission is hereby granted an extension of time until February
2, 1989 to prepare its recommendations on commercial, residential and related zoning ordinance
amendments.
SECTION II. The Plauning Commission is hereby authorized to initiate smendments to related
sections of the Leesburg Zoning Ordinance; rmmely Article 8 relating to Cluster DE.~elopment and
Special Exceptions and Article 15 relating to definitions, which are an integnd part of the
comprehensive revisions being sought by Town Council.
