A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TEMPLE CITY ENDORSING AND SUPPORTING
S.B. 54.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES RESOLVE:
WHEREAS, under present law local police officers
frequently make an arrest of a narcotics suspect, with
resulting judicial forfeiture of a motor vehicle. The
net proceeds derived from the sale of such a vehicle,
under the present law, all go to the State General Fund.
The local jurisdiction that may have been instrumental
in making the arrest gets nothing; and
WHEREAS, S.B. 54 proposes a fifty -fifty split of
such proceeds;
NOW, THEREFORE, this City Council supports S.B. 54
and urges its adoption.
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution.
