A RESOLUTION OF THE CARSON CITY COUNCIL AMENDING THE FISCAL
YEAR 2018-19 BUDGETS FOR CINCO DE MAYO, THE YOUTH
CONFERENCE, PHILIPPINE INDEPENDENCE DAY, AND THE JUNETEENTH
CELEBRATION, AND ESTABLISHING A BUDGET FOR THE DAY OF UNITY
EVENT
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted the City's Fiscal Year (FY) 2018-19 budget on June 19, 2018;
and
WHEREAS, the budget included funds for the Youth Conference; and
WHEREAS, at its October 2, 2018, meeting, Cinco de Mayo, Philippine Independence Day, and
Juneteenth were each allocated $10,000.00 to present; and
WHEREAS, at its December 4, 2018, meeting, the City Council approved increasing the budgets
of these programs so that they can be presented in a fashion similar to what has been done in the past.
Specifically, Cinco de Mayo, Philippine Independence Day and Juneteenth were each allocated an
additional $10,000.00; and the Youth Conference, an additional $5,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the Day of Unity event was reinstated with a budget of $20,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend FY 2018-19 budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARSON DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, FIND,
DETERMINE, AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The following amendments will be made to the City's budget:

Section 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall keep a copy of
this resolution attached to the FY 2018-19 budget on file, and effective as of May 21, 2019 the same
shall be in force and effect.
