A GENERAL ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 76, SCHEDULE VI OF RICHMOND
CODE REGARDING STREETS AND AREAS WHERE PARKING TIMES ARE LIMITED
WHEREAS, Chapter 74 and 76 of Richmond Code regulate parking within the City of Richmond; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 76, Schedule VI regulates the time limits imposed on off-street parking on
downtown streets;
WHEREAS, The Mayor wishes to increase the time permitted to park on Main Street from one (1)
hour to two (2) hours in order that patrons and customers of downtown businesses have
additional time to enjoy the amenities of the downtown area; and
WHEREAS; It is in the best interest of the City of Richmond is to amend Chapter 76, Schedule VI.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond that
current Chapter 76, Schedule VI of the City Code be modified as follows:
CHAPTER 76, SCHEDULE VI. PARKING TIME LIMITED
In accordance with 74.25 and when signs are erected giving notice thereof, no person shall
park a vehicle for a longer period than specified during the times when the limited parking is
in effect on any of the streets or parts of streets as follows.
