REGULAR MEETING

The Lynwood Information, Inc. of the City of Lynwood met in a Regular Meeting in the Council
Chambers, 11330 Bullis Road on the above date at 7:20 p.m.
Chairman Pedroza presiding.
Directors Byrd, Reyes, Richazds, Rodriguez and Pedroza answered the roll call.
Also present were City Manager Hempe, City Attorney Casso, Secretary Hooper and Treasurer
Pygatt.
Secretary Hooper announced that the agenda had been posted in accordance with the Brown Act.

Irene Garcia, 2737 E. 111th Street -Item #5 (Satellite Industry Potential Tazget for Tax
Revenue) stated that the people are being overtaxed on this issue and this shouldn't be even
considered.

CONSENT CALENDAR
It was moved by Director Reyes, seconded by Director Richards to adopt the resolution, approve
the Minutes, and receive and file the following items:
Item #4: MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING:

Item #5: SATELLITE INDUSTRY POTENTIAL TARGET FOR TAX REVENUE
Cable television is the leading competitor in proving cable services and has been the only service
of this sort to pay a tax or franchise fee. Now, with the burst in modern technology, the satellite
industry has introduced more consumers to its capabilities. The satellite and cable industry have
become strong competitors in an effort to gain sole control. Since both industries aze on the
same playing field, the satellite industry is being tazgeted to pay taxes equal to those of cable
communicators.
Chairman Pedroza stated this is a State Legislature's consideration to potentially tazget the
Satellite Industry to raise revenue.
Item #6: APPROVAL OF THE WARRANT REGISTER
RESOLUTION NO. 2003.011 ENTITLED:
A RESOLUTION OF THE LYNWOOD INFORMATION INC. LYNWOOD,
CALIFORNIA ALLOWING AND APPROVING THE DEMANDS AND ORDERING
WARRANTS THEREFORE.

Having no further discussion, it was moved by Vice Chairman Rodriguez, seconded by Director
Byrd and carried to adjourn the Regular Council Meeting at 7:25 p.m.
