HomeMy Public PortalAboutORD-CC-1984-16RESOLUTION 16-84 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Moab realizes that there is need to revise the requirements for Transient Merchants in regards to taxes payable to the City. WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the Governing Boby that the City has in the past, not been completely reimbursed for Taxes collected by Transient Merchants. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Moab wishes to amend Chapter 13, Moab City Code 1965. "Sec. 13-3-32 Sales Tax Deposit Requirement: Upon issuance of a license to a transient merchant, that merchant is hereby required to post a deposit with the City of Moab in the amount of FORTY DOLLARS ($40.00) for that current year. Upon presentation of a verified sales list for that year, if the tax liability Of that transient merchant is less than the deposit, the balance will be reimbursed to that transient merchant. If, however, that transient merchant fails to supply the City of Moab with a list of sales, that deposit will be forfeited to the City of Moab.
