SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
JULY 7, 2021
Commissioner Greg Chapman called the July 7, 2021 special meeting of the Board of Police
Commissioners to order at 4:00pm. In attendance were Commissioner Chapman, Commissioner
Schindlbeck, Chief Konopek, Commander Novak, Stephen Richardson, Kim McKinney and Plainfield
resident and current college student Melody.
Public Forum: Citizen's Comments -None
Correspondence -None
Commissioner Chapman takes the time to inf orm Melody what duties the Plainfield Police
Commission has. He lets Melody know that this is a special meeting and will mostly be held in executive
session because of personal information of candidates. He takes the time to answer all of Melody's
questions.
Chief Konopek would like to start discussing the possibility of expediting the Sergeant testing
process. The current Sergeant list expires in November 2022. However, there are only two officers that
remain on the list. Chief Konopek would like to have Stanard prepare a pitch for an additional round of
Sergeant testing for our September 2021 meeting. Commissioner Chapman will discuss all legalities of
testing early and maintaining the possibility of two lists and reportback at ournext meeting.
At this time the Board excuses all public from meeting to adjourn to executive session at 4:43pm.
Commissioner Chapman moves to approve a conditional offer of employment to Entry -Level
Candidate Crisitan Gonzalez. Commissioner Schindlbeck seconds. All in favor.
There being no further business or discussion, Commissioner Chapman moved the meeting to be
adjourned at4:58pm.
