HomeMy Public PortalAbout20150113 - Upper Charles Trail Committee - Meeting Minutes1 UPPER CHARLES TRAIL COMMITTEE Tuesday, January 13, 2015 5:50 PM Room 211, Town Hall, 18 Main St., Hopkinton, MA MINUTES Members present: Bob Snyder, Ken Parker, Barry Rosenbloom, Jeff Barnes, Eric Sonnett, Jane Moran, Mike Resteghini Members absent: John Coutinho, Gary Trendel Others present: Elaine Lazarus, Director of Land Use, Planning and Permitting Guests: Conway School project team - Jillian Russell, Jordan Clark, and Ferguson Wallach 1. A general discussion about the pending meeting was held by UCTC members before the Conway School team arrived. Jeff mentioned some of the Conway principals that he’s been in touch with. 2. The Conway team arrived and each individual from each party introduced himself to the assembled group. 3. The Conway team talked about the Conway mission. Their services range from Land Planning to Landscape Planning. They assess ecological implications and incorporate ecological alternatives in all their designs. 4. A lengthy dialog ensued around the scope of work as initially presented by UCTC. Jeff talked about the trail corridors that have already been identified by UCTC and labeled on the set of maps that will be passed along to Conway. Jeff continued to present the known trail by trail connector options for each identified trail. Mike and Ken assisted with this summary. 5. The Conway team mentioned that they themselves probably wouldn’t be on the “spring” phase of the project, but only the “winter” phase. Each phase is 10 weeks. Ken and Jeff will be the UCTC Point of Contacts (POC) for Conway. 6. Mike left the meeting at 7:00 for another engagement. 7. The Conway team suggested that UCTC hold an open community meeting to seek public input regarding the overall project. Elaine favored this meeting and suggested that we do this at one of our regularly posted meetings. 8. The logistics of Hopkinton trips taken by the Conway team were discussed: how many trips, how long each trip might take, etc. 9. The meeting was adjourned at 7:25PM.
