AU]I~IZING CHANGE IN BOUNDARTF~ FOR [P. BA[q ENI1~tPRISE
ZONE AND AO3~'I2%NCE OF PROPOSAL FO~ 3~ TAX PROGRAM
kltl~, the Borough of Carteret has amended the original Urban
Enterprise Zone map which was presented to the Department of Commerce on
August 20, 1994, to include the balance of Washington Avenue and
additional acreage off the Industrial Road; and
klll~, the amended map was reviewed by the Planning Board Engineer
and found to be acceptable in its entirety; and
I~ltl~, the amended map was reviewed on January 20, 1995 by the
Review Coranittee of the Urban Enterprise Zone Committee and found to be
within acceptable limits; and
WHI~, final approval of the amended map will occur on February 8,
1995 at the regular monthly meeting of the Urban Enterprise Zone
Committee; and
I~t1~, a proposal for a reduction in sales tax benefits is being
submitted to the State of New Jersey by contract authorized by the Mayor;
and
I~ItEP~, the Borough of Carteret will cooperate with the State of
New Jersey Division of* Taxation regarding rules and regulations associated
with the 3% tax program;
N(~/, THI~, BE IT RESOLVI~) that the Mayor and Council of the
Borough of Carteret hereby approve the following:
1. Amended Urban Enterprise Zone boundaries of attached map.
2. Proposal to State of New Jersey Division of Taxation for
reduction in benefits (3% Sales Tax).
Adopted this 2nd day of February, 1995
and certified as a true copy of the
original on February 3, 1995.
