REGULAR MEETING MAY 2, 2006 The Lynwood Information, Inc. of the City of Lynwood met in a regular meeting in the Council Chambers, 11330 Bullis Road on the above date at 5:18 p.m. Chairman Vasquez presiding. Directors Byrd, Johnson, Pedroza, Santillan, and Vasquez answered the roll call. Also present were City Manager Martinez, City Attorney Beltran, and Secretary Hooper. City Treasurer Pygatt was absent. Secretary Hooper announced that the Agenda had been posted in accordance with the Brown Act. Item #4 PROCLAMATIONS/PRESENTATIONS • Cinco De Mayo Proclamation presented to Pedro Ramos, Director of Casa Puebla • Lynwood Wall of Sports Legends Inductees -Louis Byrd, Tyron Naulls, Earl Tucker, and William York • Lynwood Sports Association presented the Council with L.A. Dodger tickets. • City Manager's Report - 2006 Resident Survey Results presented by Marianna Marysheva, Director of Finance PUBLIC ORAL COMMUNICATIONS (Regarding Agenda Items Only) r, NONE PUBLIC ORAL COMMUNICATIONS NONE CONSENT CALENDAR All matters listed under the Consent Calendar will be acted upon by one motion affirming the action recommended on the agenda. There will be no separate discussion on these items prior to voting unless members of the Agency or staff request specific items be removed from the Consent Calendar for separate action. It was moved by Director Byrd, seconded by Director Pedroza, to approve the minutes and warrant register resolution. Item #5 MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS: • Regular Meeting -March 21, 2006 • Regular Meeting -April 4, 2006 Item #6 APPROVAL OF THE WARRANT REGISTER _ RESOLUTION NO. 2006.008 ENTITLED: A RESOLUTION OF THE LYNWOOD INFORMATION INC. OF LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA, ALLOWING AND APPROVING THE DEMANDS AND WARRANTS THEREFORE. ROLL CALL: AYES: DIRECTOR BYRD, JOHNSON, PEDROZA, SANTILLAN, AND VASOUEZ NOES: NONE ABSTAIN: NONE ABSENT: NONE DISCUSSION ITEMS Item #7 SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS AROUND SCHOOLS G. Daniel Ojeda, Director or Public Works/City Engineer and Joseph Kekula, Public Works/Engineer Manager, gave a presentation on the safety improvements around schools. After discussion, it was moved by Director Santillan, seconded by Director Pedroza, to receive & file this report concerning traffic safety improvements around schools.
